Hints on Poultry Management

Make Sure they have access to fresh clean water at all times. Note: chickens can become dehydrated rather than drink dirty water.

Make sure your chicken coop is secure and safe, so that nothing can get in or out.

Chickens have very sensitive respiratory tracts, so you need to keep the coop as dust free as possible.

The chicken coop must be cleaned out regularly, ideally at least once a week, depending on the amount of chickens and time of year.

Check your chickens every day if possible and ensure they all look active and healthy. Keep an eye on their behaviour and eating habits. Have them checked by a vet if you feel there is any problems.

Birds need to be vaccinated against a number of diseases, this should happen before you get them.

Check out our agri supplies section for a range of feeders, drinkers and poultry fencing also we supply wood shavings for bedding.
